Touchdowns for Nolan Lashley in three games, among the state leaders. Lashley scored Republic’s only touchdown at Nixa, a four-yard run late in the second quarter that cut the lead to 14-6.
Rushing yards for Republic through three games, an average of 364.7 a night on 163 total carries. Even in Friday’s loss at Nixa, Republic ran 70 plays to the Eagles’ 32 and picked up 21 first downs to Nixa’s 12. Through three games, Republic has 55 first downs. Its opponents have 19.
Aces for Kate Mitchell in Tuesday’s four-set loss at Kickapoo, where she also had 12 kills and three blocks. The senior leads Republic with 31 aces on the season and 30 total blocks, and her 100 kills are second on the team.
Kills for Reese Finley, five more than Mitchell for the team lead. Finley also tops the Lady Tigers with 95 digs, one ahead of Rylee Dishman and two ahead of Rylee Vent, and her 142 assists are second only to setter Chloe Pullan’s 196.
Chloe Simpson’s batting average, with 20 hits in 42 at-bats. Simpson went 4-for-6 and scored three runs in Tuesday’s 19-8 win at Lebanon, and her 12 runs scored are second on the team to Mia Carnes’ 15.
Lady Tigers tied for the team lead in runs batted in, with nine apiece. Madi Carter is hitting .394 with a .523 on-base percentage. Maddie Taylor has a team-high 16 hits, including five doubles and a triple. Carnes leads the team in home runs, including two of them Tuesday at Lebanon, and also leads Republic with seven stolen bases.
Strikeouts for Kendra Goeke in 40 innings this season, 18 of them looking. The junior is 6-1 in seven appearances, and nine of those strikeouts came in five scoreless innings at Waynesville last Monday.
Jenna Smith’s round at the Marshfield Invitational last Thursday, good for fifth place and a medal. It was the second time in eight days Smith shot the best round of her career, and all three Republic golfers turned in career-best rounds at Marshfield.
