Willard hit four home runs Monday and handed Republic a 13-1 defeat.
Willard’s offense did most of its damage in the fifth and sixth innings, scoring nine of its 13 runs. Jarrett McGee hit a three-run shot in the third to break a 1-1 tie, Hilton added a two-run homer in the fifth, Jackson Redd hit a three-run blast later that frame, and Evan Arnold capped the scoring with a three-run home run in the sixth.
Republic scored its lone run in the first inning on a Landon Blankenship single. Cooper Thomas took the loss for Republic. Blankenship went 2-for-3 with a double. Thomas, Landon Perkins, and Chase Connell each had one hit for Republic.
The Tigers fall to 7-20 with their 10th consecutive loss. Republic returns to action Tuesday at home against Carthage.
