Republic finished its regular-season with a bang, exploding for seven goals in the second half to clinch a share of its first-ever conference championship with an 8-0 win at Springfield Parkview.
The Lady Tigers led just 1-0 at halftime on the strength of a goal by Andie Wistrom, assisted by Paige Elsenraat, about 24 minutes into the match.
The second half was a different story.
Macey Mitchell scored two goals 37 seconds apart, assisted by Maddie Randall once and Ava Woolley once. Wistrom got back in the scoring column four minutes later, with an assist by Mitchell. That made the score 4-0 with 32:12 remaining.
The Lady Tigers tallied three more goals in the span of 1:09. Wistrom fed Elsenraat for back-to-back goals 23 seconds apart, then 41 seconds later, Jaclyn Wade scored an unassisted goal to make it 7-0. Wade scored again as Mitchell picked up her second assist of the night to close out the scoring and end the game.
The win secures Republic’s part in a three-way tie atop the Central Ozark Conference West Division. Republic, Webb City, and Willard all finished with one loss. Of the three co-leaders, Republic finished with the best goal differential in the division, outscoring its divisional opponents 28-5. Webb City’s scoring margin in the division as 25-7, and Willard’s was 16-4.
This is the first conference championship of any kind for the Republic girls soccer program. They join the girls wrestling team as first-time conference champs in 2025-26.
