Brennan Overstreet allowed one hit over six innings, and Greg Hicks drove in four runs as Republic beat Lebanon 6-0 on Wednesday. The win is Republic’s third in a row since snapping an 11-game losing streak.
Hicks cleared the bases with a two-out double in the bottom of the first to put the Tigers up 3-0. He doubled again in the fifth to score Landon Perkins. Hicks finished 2-for-4 with four RBIs.
Overstreet walked four and struck out three. The only hit he surrendered was a one-out single by Cole Milliken in the top of the first. Maddox West worked the seventh, walking two and striking out two to preserve the shutout.
Nolan Lashley singled home Fisher Moore in the second to make it 4-0. After Hicks drove home his fourth run in the fifth, Republic tacked on another run in the sixth when Cooper Thomas scored on a wild pitch. Thomas, Landon Blankenship and Lashley each finished with a hit.
Lebanon starter Landon Klee took the loss after issuing eight walks and giving up four hits in five innings. Republic drew nine walks in the game.
