Republic scored the game’s first six points and never looked back, routing Neosho 80-19 on Monday for the Lady Tigers’ eighth consecutive victory.

Eleven players scored for Republic (17-3), which shot 40 percent from the field and hit 8 of 23 from three-point range. The Lady Tigers went 20 of 26 from the free-throw line.

Paelyn Gilmore led all scorers with 17 points, going 7 of 8 from the stripe and connecting on a pair of threes. Cora Cutbirth added 14 points, all on two-point baskets and free throws, while Josie Stalzer chipped in 11. Kinley Kilburn finished with 10 points, hitting two threes.

Republic opened with a 17-2 run to start the game, punctuated by threes from Gilmore, Addie Brown and Stalzer. The Lady Tigers led 29-9 after one quarter and pushed the margin to 51-11 by halftime behind a 22-2 second quarter.

The third quarter brought more of the same. Republic reeled off a 17-0 run spanning the third and fourth quarters, stretching the lead from 52-12 to 69-12 before Neosho’s Brooklynn Crandall broke the drought.

Jaz Washington scored 12 of Neosho’s 19 points. The Lady Wildcats (2-18) shot 21 percent from the floor.

Republic has won its last two games by a combined 143 points after beating Lebanon 82-17 on Friday. The Lady Tigers host Hillcrest on Wednesday.
