Republic jumped out to an early double-digit lead and never trailed, defeating Lebanon 43-16 in an eighth-grade girls basketball matchup. The Lady Tigers used a dominant first quarter and a strong defensive performance to secure the victory.
Republic established control immediately, outscoring Lebanon 17-4 in the opening period. Kali Uhl and Avy Askew provided the early offensive spark, with Askew connecting on two three-pointers in the first quarter to help build the lead. The Lady Tigers’ defense held Lebanon to just four points in each of the first two quarters, heading into halftime with a 27-8 advantage.
The defensive pressure continued into the third quarter, where Republic limited Lebanon to a single basket. Icely Snell led the scoring in the second half, accounting for seven of the Lady Tigers’ 16 points after the break.
Uhl led all scorers with 18 points. Snell also finished in double figures with 11 points.
