Republic Swim Finishes 4th of 26 Teams at Springfield Invite

Republic finished fourth out of 26 schools at the Springfield Invitational on Saturday, posting the best team finish in program history at the meet with 166 points. Republic’s previous best finish at the event had been 12th in 2021.

Republic earned podium finishes in six events and scored throughout the lineup to climb into the top four of the overall standings.

Ava Brown led the individual performances, placing third in the 200-yard freestyle (2:03.16) and third in the 100-yard freestyle (56.72). Zaylie Pinnell finished fifth in the 50 freestyle (26.02) and sixth in the 100 freestyle (57.39). Elise Replogle placed fifth in the 100 butterfly (1:03.53) and third in the 100 breaststroke (1:11.85).

Republic’s relay teams were also among the top finishers. The 200-yard freestyle relay of Brown, Sara Chism, Replogle and Pinnell placed third in 1:46.99. The 400-yard freestyle relay of Pinnell, Mei Pruett, Replogle and Brown finished second in 3:58.01.

Additional points were scored by Amelia Beaver, Alice Booher and Lillian Worthy as Republic secured its highest-ever finish at the Springfield Invitational.
