In his final high-school game, middle linebacker Kaleb Norman closed out his career the way he played from the start — as a leader for the Republic defense. Norman made 10 tackles in the district championship loss to Carthage, the most by any Tiger, and logged one of Republic’s four tackles for loss.
Norman has anchored the middle of the defense all season, and Friday’s performance capped a year marked by consistent production. He had 11 tackles the previous week at Webb City and hit double digits against Joplin on September 26. No other Republic player in the past decade has recorded three double-digit tackling games in a single season.
A three-year starter, Norman ended his career as the steady presence at the center of the Tiger defense, and his effort against Carthage is our Performance of the Week.
