Thirty-one is the most games won by Republic over a three-season stretch in program history. That three-year excellence was accomplished four times in the 1980s: 1980-82 (10+9+12 wins); 1981-83 (9+12+10); 1984-86 (8+11+12); and 1985-87 (11+12+8). With a win at Carthage on Friday, Republic would reach 32 wins during the current three-season stretch, setting a new high-water mark in that area for the program.

The previous mark was set during a 15-game campaign in 2023, underscoring how explosive this year’s offense has been from week to week. Linebacker Kaleb Norman has been in on 89 tackles this season, an average of 8.1 per game. He leads the team in total tackles and has also made nine tackles for loss, anchoring the middle of the defense.

Republic’s ground game has piled up 4,036 rushing yards this season. Preston McCracken leads the way with 1,307 yards, followed by identical rushing totals of 678 yards each from Owen Klier and Izaiah Hull. Matthew Pelfrey has added 514 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns, tied with Hull for second on the team behind McCracken’s 20 rushing scores. The Tigers’ depth continues with contributions from Treyton Gray (207 yards), Jin Villasica (197), Tristan Burks (122), and Greg Hicks (107), among others.

As a team, Republic is averaging 7.5 yards per carry, with 4,036 rushing yards on 538 attempts. That production translates to 367 rushing yards per game, and Tigers ball carriers have turned in eight individual 100-yard rushing performances so far this season.
