Republic controlled possession and outshot Ray-Pec by a wide margin but couldn’t find the net in a 1–0 loss Saturday afternoon at the Kickapoo Shootout.

The defeat ended Republic’s five-match winning streak and snapped a run of five consecutive shutouts. It dropped the Tigers’ record to 6–11 overall.

Republic outshot Ray-Pec 13–3, including a 4–1 edge in shots on goal. But the Panthers made their lone shot on target count, scoring midway through the second half to break a scoreless tie.

Mason Tackett led the Tigers’ attack with six shots, two of them on frame. Angel Urquiza and James Robbins also put shots on goal. Despite sustained pressure throughout both halves, Republic couldn’t capitalize on several good chances, including multiple corner opportunities and free kicks deep in Ray-Pec territory.

Koal Williams faced only one shot on goal—the one that found the back of the net. Ray-Pec’s keeper stopped all four Republic shots that reached him.

Even with the loss, Republic’s defense remained solid. The Tigers have allowed one goal or fewer in 12 of their 17 matches this season.

Republic returns home Tuesday to host Webb City.
