Most everyone in Republic knows Kara Goeke drove in the winning run in the district championship game, but that was just part of a standout week.
Goeke started in the circle for the title game, allowing only two earned runs (four total) over four innings. She struck out seven, walked one, and gave up five hits. At the plate, she went 3-for-4, scoring the tying run in the sixth inning before driving in the winner.
In the semifinal win against Nixa, Goeke pitched a complete game, giving up two runs (one earned) and striking out seven in a 10–2 victory. She added a hit in three at-bats.
She also played a key role in the quarterfinal win over Branson, throwing two scoreless innings with three strikeouts. Offensively, she went 1-for-3, driving in a run and scoring twice.
