Republic’s season ended Saturday in the Class 5 District 6 semifinals with a three-set loss to Nixa in Ozark. The Lady Tigers had won eight straight matches before the loss.

Republic fell 25–19, 25–22, 25–8, but the match was tighter than the final score suggested—especially in the second set, when the Lady Tigers pushed Nixa point for point before the Lady Eagles pulled away late.

In set two, Republic overcame an early 4–1 deficit and tied the score several times behind kills from Kate Mitchell and Reese Finley. After falling behind 12–8, the Lady Tigers battled back to even the score at 14–14, then took their first lead on a service ace by Bria Claxton. Another Republic point stretched the lead to 17–15, forcing a Nixa timeout.

From there, Nixa regained control, scoring three straight to move ahead 18–17. Republic tied it again on a strong kill by Rylee Vent, but Nixa answered with two straight points to go up 21–19. Vent struck again to pull Republic within 21–20, but Nixa finished with four of the final five points to take the set 25–22.

The third set started well for Republic, which jumped ahead 3–1 after a block by Finley. But the Eagles’ attack found its rhythm, scoring 11 of the next 13 points to open a commanding lead. Finley’s kill briefly stopped the run, but Nixa controlled the rest of the set to win 25–8 and clinch the match.

Vent led Republic with five kills. Finley and Mitchell each had two blocks. Addyson Warner recorded seven digs, and Finley and Audrey Pearce each had one ace. Claxton and Chloe Pullan both finished with 11 assists.

The match marked the final appearance for seniors Bria Claxton and Hailey Fuentes.

Republic closed the year with a 17–11–1 record.
