The Lady Tigers jumped ahead in the first inning but couldn’t hold the lead in an 8–2 road loss at Kickapoo.

Republic scored once in the top of the first, but Kickapoo answered with four runs in the third to seize control. The Lady Tigers cut the deficit to 4–2 in the fourth, only to see the Lady Chiefs answer with two runs in the bottom of the inning and two more in the fifth.

Maddie Taylor and Emma Ellison collected two hits apiece to lead the Republic offense, which managed six hits in all.

Kara Goeke worked five innings in the circle and took the loss. Kendra Goeke threw a scoreless inning of relief.

Republic falls to 11-13. The Lady Tigers will be back in action at the Springfield Invitational this weekend.
