Republic has gone from shut out to shutting teams down—and the numbers back it up. The Tigers, who endured a four-match scoring drought just a couple of weeks ago, have now strung together four straight shutout wins, the longest such streak in program history. Tuesday’s 1–0 victory against Central in Springfield extended the run and lifted Republic’s record to 5-10.
Mason Tackett provided the difference in the 13th minute, converting a penalty kick for his team-leading goal. Tackett finished with two shots, one on frame. Republic fired 14 shots overall, with eight on target. Will Pinnell was especially active, leading the Tigers with four shots, two on goal.
The defense and goalkeeper Koal Williams did the rest. Williams collected three saves, posting his fourth straight clean sheet. Central managed just five shots, three on target, and earned only one corner kick. Republic’s back line was aggressive throughout, committing 11 fouls but never breaking.
Several other Tigers contributed to the attack. Kaden Fisher and Angel Urquiza each put a shot on frame. Maddox Aldridge, Sieb Kleeven, and Leighton Perez all added to the shot total.
In all, Republic has gone nearly 400 minutes without conceding a goal. The last team to score against the Tigers was Nixa, which scored very early in a 1-0 game.
The Tigers have allowed just 22 goals in 15 matches this season. The turnaround is the sharpest in program history—four straight clean sheets after four straight games without a goal of their own.
