The Lady Tigers shook off an early deficit and roared back for a 6–3 tennis win at Webb City on Thursday night.
Republic dropped two of three doubles matches to start the night. The No. 2 team of Mati Carpenter and Aubree Tinsley came through with an 8–6 victory, but Webb City claimed the other two matches for a 2–1 lead.
Singles play turned it around. Carpenter dominated at No. 1 with an 8–2 win. Kaufmann and Tinsley each cruised 8–0 at No. 4 and No. 6. Vasquez battled to a 9–6 win at No. 3, and Bremer picked up an 8–6 decision at No. 5. The lone singles setback came at No. 2, where Norris fell 9–8 (3–6) in a tiebreaker.
Republic improved to 5–2 overall and improved to 2-1 in the COC West. The Lady Tigers return to action Friday at the Nixa Invitational.
