4x800m Girls Relay – Gracie Troester, Josie Stalzer, Zoey Johns, Brylie Harris
Republic adjusted its running order in the relay, starting with Gracie Troester, followed by Josie Stalzer, Zoey Johns and Brylie Harris. They entered the race seeded 15th and improved on that seed, finishing 13th in 9:48.69. The winning time by Blue Springs was the 6th-fastest in the meet’s history for Class 5.

Javelin Boys – Kaleb Norman
Kaleb Norman finished 14th in the javelin, hitting a distance of 46.89 meters on his second of three throws. His first throw was a 42.19, and his third throw was a scratch.

400m Dash – Reese Finley
Reese Finley finished 10th in the 400m dash in the preliminary race. She ran the race in 58.32, just .29 seconds behind the 8th-place qualifier, Aniya Davis.

3200m Run – Gracie Troester

Gracie Troester is now one of the two most-decorated female runners in Republic history. Troester finished fifth in the 3200m run today — she entered the race seeded 15th — and she earned the first medal of the weekend for Republic. It’s her sixth career track-and-field medal, matching the total of all-time great Sherri Dunn. She has two more races on Saturday, the 800m and the 1600m, to try to own the record outright.

Boys High Jump – Keiran Govan
Keiran Govan is Republic’s second state medalist of 2025. According to seeding at the sectional meet, Govan wasn’t even supposed to be here at state in the high jump, but he finished second at sectionals, then he tied for seventh this morning to bring home a high jump medal. Govan cleared the bar on his first three attempts, topping out at 1.88 meters, before missing at 1.93. He still has the triple jump competition later today.

Girls Pole Vault – Sienna Blankenship

Sienna Blankenship set a new personal best, clearing 3.23m (10’7″) to finish 12th in the Class 5 pole vault as a sophomore. That’s back-to-back weeks with a personal best to close the season for Blankenship.

Girls 1600m Run – Gracie Troester
In a very fast 1600m run, Gracie Troester finished 16th, with a time of 5:38.54. She will race in the 800m run later today.

Boys Triple Jump – Keiran Govan
Keiran Govan joined eight others in the finals of the Class 5 triple jump, but a series of strong jumps by competitors on their final attempts dropped him from fifth place to ninth, leaving him just short of his second medal of the day.

Girls 800m Run – Gracie Troester
Gracie Troester finished 11th in the Class 5 800m run. She finished in a time of 2.20.08 in her final race as a Lady Tiger. She finishes her career with six state medals in track and field, including one this year, to go along with one medal in cross-country.
