Republic’s boys tennis team closed out its regular season with back-to-back 9-0 wins, sweeping Neosho Tuesday and Glendale Wednesday. The Tigers finish the dual season with a 10-3 record after winning their final five matches.

Against Neosho, Republic controlled the courts from start to finish. The doubles teams of Lucas Riffe/Andrew McCord, Gavin Collyott/Cooper Choate, and Nathan Henry/Nico Lugli each won their matches by 8-0 scores. In singles play, McCord and Lugli also posted 8-0 shutouts.

The Tigers continued their dominance against Glendale Wednesday, completing the match in a little over an hour. Riffe and Collyott teamed up at #1 doubles for an 8-2 win, while Lugli and Choate won their #3 doubles match 8-0.

“Fun match for us,” coach David Smashey said. “Gavin played a great match. Other than one rough patch, it was close to perfect.”
