Nixa shut out Republic 6-0 in a girls soccer match Monday at Republic. The Lady Eagles scored four goals in the first half and added two more after halftime. Shaelee Franck found the net twice for Nixa, while London Kirk added two second-half goals.
Franck opened the scoring with a 25-yard free kick about five minutes into the match. Sam McClain made it 2-0 off a corner kick less than three minutes later. Franck struck again with about 21 minutes left in the half, and Jade Johnson’s deflected shot found the net with 7:39 remaining before halftime.
Kirk scored twice in the second half, with goals at the 25:17 mark and again with 4:23 left in the match.
Nixa held a 7-3 advantage in corner kicks.
The loss drops Republic to 3-5 on the season, while Nixa improves to 5-1. Republic travels to Waynesville (4-0) Tuesday, then returns home Thursday to face Lebanon.
