Adison Gibbs netted a hat trick in Republic’s 8-0 victory over Monett Friday night, fueling the Lady Tigers’ first win of the season.
Gibbs wasted no time, scoring just three minutes in by redirecting a short corner cross into the middle of the net. She found the net again when Emma Hoodenpyle delivered the ball to her on the back post, making it 3-0. Gibbs completed her hat trick with 8:05 left in the first half, converting a feed from Cadence Lugar from the midfield.
The senior’s three-goal outburst helped Republic break out of an offensive drought that had produced just two goals in the previous three matches. Her performance led a Republic attack that scored more goals in one night than in its first three matches combined, and it was our Performance of the Week.
