Hagewood, Strong Lead 7 Republic Players with COC West Honors

Republic claimed top individual honors for boys and girls basketball in the Central Ozark Conference West Division.

For the boys, Brenley Hagewood earned Player of the Year honors and was one of two Republic players named to the first team, along with CJ Uhl. Both were unanimous selections. Coach Tim Brown was recognized as Coach of the Year after leading the Tigers to a 6-0 mark in conference play.

Sophomore Keiran Govan represented Republic on the All-COC second team, rounding out the Tigers’ selections.

On the girls side, Lanney Strong was named Player of the Year after helping lead Republic to a perfect 6-0 record in the conference’s West Division. Strong was joined on the All-COC West first team by teammate Sammi Watson. Republic coach Tori Mooneyham was named Coach of the Year after guiding the Lady Tigers to the conference championship.

Republic placed two more players on the second team: Awbree Berning and Josie Stalzer.
