Republic’s swim team captured third place in the COC West Division Championship in Springfield Friday, led by multiple medal-winning performances and a new school record.
Elise Replogle won gold in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:05.78, one of several top finishes for the Lady Tigers. Amelia Beaver broke her own school record in the 100-yard backstroke, finishing second in 1:10.15.
Republic’s relay teams earned silver medals in both the 200-yard freestyle and 400-yard freestyle events. The 200 freestyle team of Replogle, Sara Chism, Mei Pruett, and Aubree Tinsley finished in 1:53.73. The 400 freestyle team of Tinsley, Pruett, Beaver, and Replogle clocked 4:19.89.
Tinsley added individual medals in the 50-yard freestyle (third, 27.78) and 100-yard freestyle (second, 1:00.76). Pruett took second in the 200-yard freestyle at 2:32.13.
Beaver placed fourth in the 200-yard individual medley (2:45.61), while Chism finished fourth in the 50-yard freestyle (29.39). In the 100-yard breaststroke, Replogle placed third (1:16.03) and Chism took fifth (1:26.65).
