Republic Boys Wrestling Splits Matches at Rogersville Triangular

Republic dropped a dual to Neosho 55-20 but defeated Logan-Rogersville 51-17 in a triangular meet at Rogersville Tuesday.

Keaton Overcast (138) and Chase Hicks (215) won matches in both duals for Republic. Overcast pinned Braxton Yost of Logan-Rogersville and earned a fall victory over Neosho’s Brody Mitchell. He’s now 15-2 this season. Hicks defeated Jacob Shinkarevich of Logan-Rogersville by decision and pinned Neosho’s Dayton Kivett to improve to 14-3.

In the Logan-Rogersville dual, Republic picked up eight wins, including pins by Corbin Massey (126), Daniel Gonzalez (144), Kameron Sutton (165), and Cameron Allen (175). Adam Dunlap (150) earned a major decision victory.

Against Neosho, Republic managed just four victories. In addition to the wins by Overcast and Hicks, Daniel Gonzalez (144) won by decision and Adam Dunlap (150) won by forfeit.
