Republic scored 31 unanswered points during a dominant first-half stretch, rolling to a 68-15 win over Central Thursday night.
After Central pulled within one point at 5-4, Addie Brown’s three-pointer sparked the run with 3:37 remaining in the first quarter. By the time Central scored again with just over a minute left in the first half, Republic had built a 36-4 lead.
Paelyn Gilmore led nine Republic scorers with 12 points. Brown, Awbree Berning, and Cora Cutbirth added 11 points apiece.
The Lady Tigers led 17-4 after one quarter and 37-6 at halftime, holding Central to single digits in all four quarters.
Amanda Fajardo and Talia Dyson scored five points each to lead Central.
The win was Republic’s tenth in its last 13 games, improving their record to 10-8. The Lady Tigers play again on February 3 at Glendale.
