This year marks the 60th annual edition of the Republic Invitational boys basketball tournament, and this year’s version will come with a new twist. Republic will be one of the first sites to host games with a shot clock, which was approved by the Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA) for experimental use earlier this year.

The 35-second clock is only permitted during approved regular-season tournaments and shoot-outs, and will not be permitted in other regular-season games or during the playoffs.
Springfield Central opens the tournament at 4:00 pm Thursday against West Memphis Christian. Ozark will face Liberty at 5:30. Republic and Capital City will play their first game at 7:00 pm. And Rolla and Park Hill South will finish out the night with an 8:30 tip-off on Thursday.
The two consolation bracket games will be played Friday at 4:00 and 5:30 pm, with the winners facing off at 7:00 and 8:30.
Games begin at 11:00 am Saturday morning, with the seventh place game. The fifth place game will be played at 12:30. The third place game is scheduled for two o’clock, and the championship game is set for 3:30 PM on Saturday.
