Brody Blades had a career night from beyond the arc Friday, knocking down eight three-pointers and scoring 28 points to lead Republic past Branson 75-69.
Blades’ sharpshooting helped Republic hit 15 three-pointers as a team, the second-highest single-game total in program history. Only a 2021 game against Camdenton, when Drew McMillin hit 16 threes by himself, ranks higher.
Blades tied the old individual single-game record as it stood before McMillin, equaling the eight three-pointers made by Jeff Messenger in 1997.
“We have a slogan around here: ‘Be happy for your brother on his birthday.’ And Brody had a big birthday today and his teammates were happy for him,” coach Tim Brown said after the game.
The sophomore’s career-high scoring performance is our Performance of the Week.
