Mason Fleetwood made the most of his opportunities in Republic’s 54-27 district semifinal victory over Hillcrest, rushing for 107 yards and a touchdown on just eight carries.
Fleetwood’s explosive runs, including bursts of 30 and 24 yards in the first half, helped Republic build an insurmountable lead. His 2-yard touchdown run in the second quarter extended Republic’s advantage to 28-0 as the Tigers rolled into the district championship game.
Fleetwood’s efficient performance – averaging more than 13 yards per carry – helped Republic’s offense get back on track after several weeks of injuries at key positions. His big night was a key part of a Tiger attack that scored six touchdowns before halftime.
For sparking Republic’s offense in a big playoff victory, Fleetwood’s performance earns our Performance of the Week.
