Four Volleyball Players Earn All-Conference Recognition

Republic has four players on the All-Central Ozark Conference West Division volleyball team for 2024. Reese Finley and Reese Frey both made the first team, while Kaylee Cornelsen and Adison Gibbs are on the second team.

Reese Finley, a sophomore, was a consistent offensive threat for the Lady Tigers, recording 287 kills (3.2 per set) with a .151 hitting percentage. She also contributed defensively with 201 digs and 38 blocks. Her 38 total blocks were second-highest on the team.

Senior Reese Frey led the Republic offense from the setter position, tallying 601 assists (6.8 per set) while directing the Tigers’ attack. She also served effectively, posting a team-leading 96.1% serving percentage with 387 serves and recording 44 aces. Frey added 258 digs, ranking first on the team in that category.

Kaylee Cornelsen, a defensive specialist, was a stabilizing force in the back row with 254 digs, second-most on the team. She handled a team-high 430 serves with a 89.1% success rate. She also served successfully at a 93.6% clip with 22 aces.

Senior Adison Gibbs led the team in blocks with 74 total (17 solo) and posted the second-highest hitting percentage (.240) among regular attackers. She recorded 274 kills (3.1 per set) and contributed 189 digs, contributing both at the net and in the back row.
