Republic Volleyball Finishes Regular Season with Sweep

Republic’s volleyball team closed out its regular season with a decisive victory over Parkview, sweeping the match 25-8, 25-14, 25-6. The win brings the Lady Tigers’ record to 13-16 heading into district play.

Reese Finley led the offense with 11 kills. Adison Gibbs and Kate Mitchell led the defense at the net with two blocks each. Reese Frey and Kaylee Cornelsen contributed six digs apiece, while Bria Claxton served up five aces. Frey also dished out 25 assists in the win.

The junior varsity and freshman squads also earned sweeps against Parkview. For the freshman team, the victory capped an undefeated 20-0-1 season.

Republic opens district tournament play Tuesday, October 22, against Kickapoo.
