Republic pitcher Piper Dishman dominated Springfield Hillcrest in the Springfield Invitational, throwing a no-hitter over five innings and striking out 10 batters.
Dishman faced the minimum 15 batters, allowing only one baserunner on a hit-by-pitch. She struck out two-thirds of the batters she faced and didn’t allow a single ball out of the infield.
The junior right-hander was one batter away from a perfect game. Dishman’s near-perfect outing and double-digit strikeouts earn her this week’s Performance of the Week honors.
