Republic jumped ahead 1-0 in the first half on a rainy night against Waynesville. But Waynesville tied the score in the second half, then topped Republic on penalty kicks after two scoreless overtime periods, escaping with a 2-1 victory. Waynesville won the penalty kick shootout 4-3.
