Republic volleyball bounced back from a second-set stumble to defeat Waynesville in four sets Tuesday night. The Lady Tigers secured their first Central Ozark Conference win of the season, improving to 1-2 in league play.
Republic took the opening set 25-15 before Waynesville evened the match with a 26-24 win. The Lady Tigers regained control, closing out the match 25-23 and 25-17.
Adison Gibbs powered the offense with 17 kills and added two blocks. Reese Finley matched Gibbs with two blocks of her own.
Reese Frey led the defensive effort with 13 digs while serving up three aces. Kate Mitchell also notched three aces. Frey and Bria Claxton orchestrated the attack, dishing out 27 assists each.
Republic’s JV and freshman squads both swept their matches in two sets.
The Lady Tigers head to the Rockwood Invitational this weekend, facing Lutheran St. Charles and Lafayette Wildwood on Friday.
