Republic’s volleyball team started strong but ultimately fell to Nixa in four sets on the road Tuesday.
The Lady Tigers took the opening set 25-22 before Nixa rallied to win three straight and claim the match.
Nixa seized control early in the second set, winning 25-14. Republic battled back to tie the third set at 10-10 before Nixa pulled away for a 25-18 victory. The hosts maintained their momentum in the fourth, closing out the match 25-13.
Reese Frey and Reese Finley led Republic’s attack with nine kills each. Frey also contributed 14 digs and 14 assists. Adison Gibbs anchored the defense with four blocks, while Bria Claxton served two aces.
The loss drops Republic’s record to 6-3 on the season.The Lady Tigers will host Waynesville in a Central Ozark Conference match on Thursday.
