Republic’s volleyball team swept district opponent Branson in straight sets Tuesday, winning 25-23, 25-21, 25-20. The victory improved Republic’s overall record to 6-1 and will have implications for district seeding later in the season.
The match marked Republic’s quick return to Branson, coming just days after the Lady Tigers opened their season at the Branson Invitational tournament.
Adison Gibbs led Republic’s offense with 10 kills. Reese Finley and Gibbs each contributed two blocks to the defensive effort.
Kaylee Cornelsen anchored the back row with eight digs, while Neveah Ghan served up two aces for Republic.
Reese Finley orchestrated the offense, dishing out 22 assists in the three-set match.
In junior varsity action, Republic won in two sets, 25-19, 25-23. The freshman team also won, coming from behind to take its match 25-27, 25-21, 16-14.
