Republic’s cross country teams started their season at the Southwest Cross Country Coaches Association Richard Clark Invitational in Bolivar Saturday morning. (Scroll down for photos.)
The top Republic finisher in the boys race from Republic was Will Payne, who finished 60th in a field of nearly 300 runners with a time of 17:14.78.
The girls team was competing without senior Gracie Troester, who sat out with an injury. She’s expected to return to racing soon. Freshman Brylie Harris finished 56th for Republic to lead the way, with a time of 21:11.34.
Four others finished in the girls top 100 for Republic. Catherine Wilson was 70th, Jordan Coleman 71st, Quinnlyn Keller was 92nd, and Millie Waterman was 100th.
The girls team finished 11th out of 38 schools. The boys team was 28th out of 55 schools.
