Dishman’s No-Hitter, Brown’s 4 RBIs Propel Republic to 12-0 Victory

Piper Dishman pitched a three-inning no-hitter and Addie Brown drove in four runs to help Republic’s softball team earn a 12-0 win over Sherwood in the season opener at the Morrisville Invitational Tournament Friday. The Lady Tigers scored five runs in the first inning and tacked on seven more in the third inning to finish the game off.

Dishman struck out seven batters and walked one. She threw 44 pitches, 31 of them for strikes.

Brown singled twice in three at-bats, and she also had two stolen bases to go with her four RBIs. Paige Elsenraat and Annabelle Gerhardt-Hobbs also had two hits apiece. Elsenraat added three RBIs. Addison Walker, and Lilli Richerson each had one base hit.

Republic’s second scheduled game of the day was rained out. The Lady Tigers will play three games Saturday, weather permitting, starting at 3 o’clock.
