Comeback Win Lands Lady Tigers in Tournament Semifinal

Republic’s softball team rallied from an early deficit to defeat Bolivar 7-4 Saturday, advancing to the semifinals of the Morrisville Tournament and improving their record to 2-0.

Paige Elsenraat led the Lady Tigers’ offense, going 3-for-3 with a home run, two RBIs, and two runs scored. Lilli Richerson matched Elsenraat’s production at the plate, also finishing 3-for-3 with a home run and driving in one run.

Addie Brown contributed to the winning effort with a 2-for-3 performance at the plate and one RBI. Brown has five RBIs in Republic’s first two games. Annabelle Gerhardt-Hobbs drove in two runs for Republic.

Kara Goeke earned the complete-game victory in the circle, allowing four runs on eight hits while striking out three over five innings.

Republic overcame two deficits, falling behind 3-0 in the top of the first inning, then
again 4-3 in the top of the third. The semifinals and finals are both scheduled for Saturday night.
