The Republic High School esports team, competing in the video game Valorant, finished in second place at the Missouri Scholastic Esports Federation (MOSEF) state tournament held in Mexico, Missouri, over the weekend. The team won its first two matches, then faced St. Louis University High School (SLUH) in the championship match. Republic lost 14-12 in overtime on the first map and 13-11 on the second.
“The guys played well and had a ton of fun,” said coach Rob Coffey. The team includes Alexander Dale, Brody Bryant, Max Davis, Cole Allen, and Tales Schreiber.
