The Republic girls track team scored an impressive 139.5 points to secure their second straight Central Ozark Conference championship. They outscored their closest competitors, Nixa (121 points) and Ozark (85.5 points), by a significant margin. That’s 10 1/2 points more than Republic scored in the 2023 COC meet.

Three Lady Tigers won two individual events each. Gracie Troester dominated the 1600m (5:11.77) and 3200m (11:34.64) runs, Alaina Norman excelled in the shot put (11.41m) and javelin (41.68m), and Jenna Belcher soared to victory in the long jump (5.60m) and triple jump (11.26m).

The number of personal bests recorded by Lady Tigers during the COC meet. Among those personal bests were two school records, in the long jump and the 4×200 meter relay.

Jenna Belcher broke the previous school long jump record with a leap of 5.60m. She surpassed her own record of 5.44m set last season, cementing her status as Republic’s top performer in the event — and she will try to add to her record heading into districts, sectionals, and state.

The 4×200 meter relay team, consisting of Reese Finley, Gracie Woods, Jenna Belcher, and Brooklyn Douglas, broke their own school record with a time of 1:45.36. Despite finishing second to Ozark by 0.29 seconds, their performance bested the previous mark.

The number of relay golds won by the Lady Tigers during their two-year championship run. In both years, Republic won the 4×400 meter relay and the 4×800 meter relay.

The number of Republic girls performances considered “elite” by the national track and field website Milesplit. Of 32 performances at the COC meet that met the MileSplit US Second Team standard, five belonged to Lady Tigers. Alaina Norman reached the benchmark in javelin (41.68m) and shot put (11.41m), Jenna Belcher reached it in long jump (5.6m) and triple jump (11.26), and Gracie Troester earned the nod with her time in the 1600m run (5:11.77).
