The Republic High School golf team claimed a fifth-place finish at the Carl Junction Tournament, posting a team score of 323. The Tigers tied with Branson in the 18-team field.
Cason Bekemeier led Republic with a 72, tying Jack Spencer of Carl Junction for third place. After a bogey on 17, Bekemeier rebounded with a birdie to earn the third-place tie.
Jace Henry shot an 82, Brayden Tharp an 84, Luke Heavin an 85, and Porter Bollinger finished with an 89 for Republic.
Host Carl Junction won the tournament with a 308, followed by Webb City (312), Ozark (319) and Monett (322).
Monett’s Jaxon Bailey took home medalist honors, firing a 69. Cooper Forth of Webb City was second, with a score of 70.
The Tigers are back at it again today in Marshfield.
