Republic opened its track season with eight gold medals at the Branson Invitational Thursday. The Lady Tigers won seven events, including two relays. Zion Allen won the high jump for the boys’ only event championship.
Gracie Troester and Alaina Norman were each part of three golds. Troester was on the winning 4x800m relay team, and she also won the 1600m run and the 3200m run. Norman won the shot put and the javelin, and she was on the winning 4x400m relay team.
Jenna Belcher won two individual events: the long jump and the high jump. Kristin Probst and Gracie Woods were on both winning relay teams.

The Republic girls finished a close third as a team, with 171 points, just behind winner Ozark (182.5) and Nixa (177.6). The Republic boys finished fifth with 70.5 points.
