We catch up with the Tiger baseball team through seven games as they get set for a busy stretch of the season.


The number of consecutive plate appearances in which Garrett Lester reached safely by a hit or a walk during a four-game span. The streak stretched across parts of four different games before he was retired by Springfield Glendale in his third plate appearance.


The number of walks drawn by Republic hitters over their first seven games, an average of more than five per game. Republic’s plate discipline has allowed it to compile a team on-base percentage of .392 despite a team batting average of only .242.


The number of runs driven in by senior Brett Hendrickson so far this year. Hendrickson’s hot start from the bottom half of the batting order has been one of the most consistent factors in Republic’s offense so far this season. Hendrickson is hitting .365 this season, with a slugging percentage of .591.


The percentage of successful stolen base attempts by Republic so far. Through seven games, Republic has 14 stolen bases in 15 tries. Lester’s six stolen bases lead the team.


The number of strikeouts by Caide White in his first 11 innings of work. White’s 15 Ks lead the team. As a staff, Republic has walked 55 batters and walked 27.
