By the Numbers – Kinloch Classic Edition

Republic turned in its best effort at the Kinloch Classic since 2015, finishing second overall. Here’s a look at some of the stats that stood out.

42

The tournament-leading number of pins by Republic wrestlers during the two-day event. Republic’s 42 pins were the most of any team, just ahead of Marshfield’s 41 and Jackson’s 40. The average time of Republic’s pins was 1:27.

5

The number of pins by Phillip George and Maddox Wilkins. They led Republic in pins during the tournament. George accomplished his five pins in 5:10, and Wilkins pinned his five opponents in 5:22. Ryland Rogers, Chase Hicks, and Keaton Overcast each pinned three opponents.

:19

The amount of time it took Ryland Rogers to complete his fastest pin. The 19-second match was the fastest victory of the tournament for any Republic wrestler — and the seventh-fastest among all matches. Rogers had another pin of 21 seconds. Phillip George also turned in two pins in 30 seconds or less.

34

The difference between the seeding of Republic’s individual wrestlers and where they placed in the tournament. That difference of 34 is the highest of any team in the field, and Republic’s ability to out-perform pre-tournament expectations was what helped the Tigers take second place overall.

10

The difference between Ryland Rogers’ seed (13) and his finish (3) at Kinloch. Only three wrestlers in the field showed bigger improvements over their seeding from their pre-tournament seeds.
