Tiger Team Effort: Five Tigers Score Double Figures in Rout of Bolivar

Nine different players scored for Republic — five of them in double figures — as Republic steamrolled Bolivar at home Friday, 75-40. Junior Davin Parks scored a career-high 15 points to lead the Tigers, who didn’t trail all night.

Republic scored the first six points of the game and led 19-10 by the end of the first quarter. Four starters and three other players off the bench scored during the first eight minutes of the game for the Tigers, with Aslan Ebisch fueling the fast start. He had six of his 10 points in the first quarter.

In the second quarter, Cason Bekemeier scored seven of his 10 points to lead the onslaught, helping Republic build a 40-22 cushion by halftime. The Tigers pulled away despite the fact that leading scorer Brenley Hagewood was held to two points before halftime.

In the third quarter, Hagewood heated up, scoring seven of his 11 points. Parks had six points in the quarter, and James Rexroat had five. It was 64-37 when the fourth quarter began. The Tigers outscored Bolivar 11-3 in the final period.

Besides Parks, Hagewood, Ebisch, and Bekemeier, Republic also got double-figure scoring from CJ Uhl, with 10. The Tigers earned their third win in a row and improved to 5-3. Bolivar fell to 1-5.

The Tigers are off until the Blue & Gold Tournament, which begins on December 26 with a game at Hammons Student Center against Buffalo.
