Republic’s first possession of the state semifinal was Peak Ryan Cornelsen. The Tigers took their head coach’s penchant for ball control to the extreme, driving 68 yards in 19 plays. The drive took nearly the entire first quarter, and when quarterback Wyatt Woods scored on a 4th-and-goal play from the one-yard line, Republic took an early lead. The clock-consuming drive set the tone for Republic, and it was our Yocum Automotive Drive of the Game.
