Republic senior Emily Weaver will join the Drury University lacrosse squad next year. Weaver committed during an event on the Drury campus Wednesday evening. She’ll join several other former Republic players on Drury’s team. Here’s a Q&A with her about her decision:
Why Drury?
When I did the tour, I really liked the campus and seeing how the staff and students interacted with each other and the team, of course.
What are you looking forward to the most about college lacrosse?
Getting to play with new people and my former teammates, and just playing a whole new game.
What do you think you’ll take from your time playing with the program in Republic that will carry over?
Learning how to work with each other, having communication skills, learning the sport as a whole, and learning how to adapt to new plays — and to adapt with the team.
