Republic made quick work of Waynesville in the opening round of the district tournament Monday at home. The Lady Tigers won all three doubles matches, then quickly dispatched Waynesville with two singles wins.
Lilly Carlo and Elli Woodward won the #1 singles match 8-1. At #2, Mari Davidson and Monica Henry won 8-6. Ella Lashley and Katie Teeter teamed to win their match 8-1.
In singles play, Katie Teeter won her match 6-2, 6-0; Lashley won 6-0, 6-2. Their two wins ended play by clinching the team victory for Republic.
The Lady Tigers (11-5) advance to the district semifinals at Lebanon (15-5) Tuesday.
