Republic junior Izzy Benson finished her season strong during the second day of the Class 4 state golf tournament at Silo Ridge Country Club in Bolivar. Benson shot an 88, improving on her previous day’s score by nine strokes.
Benson gained gained 12 places on the leaderboard during the second day, moving up to 59th with a two-day score of 185. Her 88 on Tuesday tied for 50th-best score of the day.
Benson earned all-Central Ozark Conference and all-district recognition this season, in addition to appearing in her third consecutive state tournament.
