Republic powered its way past Joplin Tuesday at home for a straight-set victory, 25-11, 25-17, 25-19. The match marked the seventh win in a row for the Lady Tigers — and Republic has now won 17 consecutive sets.
Seniors Rilynn Finley and Brooklyn Claxton each continued their standout stretches of play over the past few weeks. Finley led the team in kills (15), blocks (3), and digs (19). Claxton led the team in service aces (3) and assists (26).
Alaina Norman was also in double digits with 12 kills. Reese Frey dished out 13 assists and was second on the team with seven digs — equaling Addison Fanning’s total in that category Frey also had two service aces.
Republic won the JV match 18-25, 25-12, 15-12. The freshman team won 25-22, 25-14
Republic carries a 17-4 record into a home match with Central Ozark Conference rival Carl Junction Thursday. The Lady Bulldogs are 16-4.
