Republic needed only about 55 minutes to finish off Parkview in a mercy-rule 8-0 win in Springfield Thursday. The victory was Republic’s fifth of the season, matching the win total from all of last year. It was also Republic’s fourth straight win.
The Tigers got goals from six different players, including a hat trick from Santino Stiglianese. Diego Zuniga and Mason Cole also scored. Republic got first-time goals from three players: Miles Thomas, Mason Tackett, and William Pinnell.
Republic’s eight-goal output also puts the Tigers past their total for all of last year, when they scored 22 goals. Republic has 25 goals through seven matches so far this season.
Republic improves its record to 5-3. The Tigers next host Carl Junction on September 19.
