Four Republic girls and four boys turned in season-best times at the Missouri Southern Stampede in Joplin Saturday. Gracie Troester was Republic’s top finisher, taking seventh place with a time of 18:44.44. There were 270 girls competing in Republic’s division.
Troester’s time was not a season-best, but Kristin Probst’s was. Probst finished 32nd with a time of 19:41.19. Millie Waterman ran her race in 21:36.56, also her best time of the year. Catherine Wilson’s time of 21:57.60 was the best of the season for her. Misora Nambara finished in 22:47.80, and Mylee Ramsey came in at 23:33.83. Mei Pruit was the fourth runner with a season-best time for Republic, finishing in 23:47.44.
Brady Purcell was the best of the boys for Republic, leading the way with a season-best time of 16:17.15 and finishing 38th out of more than 340 runners. William Payne (17:02.91), Kasei Wilcutt (18:28.79), and Dak Henning (19:05.15) also posted their best times of the year. Hayden Mitchell (19:14.96), Gabe Benjamin (19:28.96), and Joey Mullins (20:07.24) also ran for Republic.
The Lady Tigers finished 19th out of 33 teams. The Tigers were 29th out of 41 teams.
